FUNKY NASSAU - PART 1 * THE BEGINNING OF THE END * ALSTON 4595 * USA

The Begining Of The End were a four piece outfit comprising three brothers: Raphael, keyboard's and vocals; Liroy, guitar and vocals; Frank Munnings drums and vocals; and Fred Henfeild. The group all came from Nassau in the Bahamas, and their song name checking their home town was a massive hit putting that location, for a brief moment, on the musical world map. Released in March 1971 the exceptionally danceable Funky Nassau was their debut recording for Henry Stone's Florida based Alston label launched in 1968, and was produced by Steve Alaimo; it was issued three months later in the UK in July (see below).
