HAVE YOU SEEN HER * THE CHI-LITES * MCA 1146 * UK
The Chi-Lites had their first commercial success in 1971 over a decade after the group members had started to record. Eugene Record, Robert Lester, and Clarence Johnson called themselves The Chanteurs in the late '50s The group then incorporated Creadel "Red" Jones and Marshall Thompson, and became The Hi-Lites. They changed their name around 1964,to Marshal and The Chi-lites; the Chi stood for Chicago, their home town. After Marshal left they became The Chi-lites, they name signed as with Brunswick in 1968, their first recording for them was Give It Away #55398, the above - a heavy helping of undiluted sentimentality and self pity [love it] - was their ninth for the label.
