Bobby Paterson first came to the attention of many British Soul music fans in 1968 when his Broadway Ain't Funky No More was played by club Deejays, yet his recording career goes back to 1963. Born in 1944 in Dallas, Texas his first release was for the Future label located in Batesville, Arkansas; he had two out on Future followed by two on Abnak, before signing for Jet Star in 1966 where he had a total of fourteen records released, four of which were with The Mustangs, including the above mentioned Broadway Ain't Funky No More. The beautiful Soul ballad If He Hadn't Slipped Up And Got Caught was his only release for the Granite label # 536.
