I'M DOIN' FINE NOW * NEW YORK CITY * RCA 2351 * UK
A fine 'Philly' Disco cut from a group from New York. Staring out as a trio in 1967, Tim McQueen, Ed Shell and Mike Sanford, called themselves Mark 111, after Sanford left and John Brown (of The Five Satins, The Cadillacs and The Moonglows) Claude Johnson came in they changed their name to Triboro Exchange under which name they recorded for Buddah. I'm Doin' Fine Now was from their first session as New York City at Chelsea Records, produced by Thom Bell, giving the recording that official Philly sound, it went on to sell a million copies.
