It's A Shame was The Spinners biggest commercial success and the only single by them to feature lead vocalist G. C. Cameron. In the UK the groups records had to be released as by The Detroit Spinners or The Motown Spinners as a British Folk group were already using the name The Spinners; ironically when they left Motown the recorded for Atlantic as The Detroit Spinners. Written by Stevie Wonder, Lee Garrett and Syreeta and released in the US on V. I. P. 25057 in June 1970 and October 1970 in the UK, it was the first record, outside of his own recordings, to be produced by Stevie Wonder.
