The group started out in 1962 all five members: brothers Walter and Wallace Scott, Nicholas Caldwell, Marcus Hutson and Gordy Harmon, were from the Watts area of Los Angeles. Their first recording was in 1964 on the Dore label, after a handful of records for Dore they moved to Ron Carson's Oakland based Soul Clock in 1969, Seems Like I Gotta Do Wrong was their fifth disc for the label.
