SIGHT FOR SORE EYES * LAMONT DOZIER * WARNER BROS. 17070 * UK

Sight For Sore Eyes was taken from Lamont Dozier's second Warner Bros album Peddlin' Music On The Side, with it he seems to have grown up along with his audience of the Motown years, and while those songs he co wrote and produced with brothers Eddie and Brian Holland, were not altogether teen songs they did have more of an appeal to the dynamics of youth. With Sight For Sore Eyes it was clear that he had shifted in his song writing approach and had become more mellow, introspective and exculpapatory. I guess he had certainly paid his dues, gone back to his roots and, possibly, found some inner peace, at least that's the vibe I get.
