SWING YOUR DADDY * JIM GILSTRAP * CHELSEA 2005 021 * UK

Texas born James Earl "Jim" Gilstrap, is something of a one hit wonder although his musical carear covers a lot of areas.  His first profesional engagements as a singer were with The Doodletown Pipers! a MOR outfit that would sing backing vocals on TV for big name stars., after which he moved on to The Cultures another group of backing singers for Pop and Soul artists.  After singing backing vocals as part of Wonderlove for Stevie Wonder he decided to go solo and in 1975 he signed for Chelsea Records and recorded this classic Disco cut Swing Your Daddy which became an instant hit with dancers reaching #10 on the US R&B charts and #4 on the UK Pop charts.
