After abandoning the music it was built on, then realizing the potential for profit after the success of Bob Marley, the Island label returned to Jamaican music for a period in the mid seventies issuing some excellent discs, notably from producer Lee Perry. This brief musical renaissance also helped the artist Max Romeo restore his fortunes in Great Britain after being in the wilderness, as far as some fans were concerned, due to his big hit Wet Dream, which had led many to believe that he was just a 'slack' artist and therefore not for worthy of serious attention.
