GOOD TIME ROCK * HUGH MALCOLM WITH THE BLENDERS * PRESSURE BEAT * JA
This one was available on the Amalgamated label in the UK, Amalgamated was an outlet for Joe Gibbs productions, and Pressure Beat was one of his imprints, there was a short run (15) of a UK Pressure Beat label from 1970. This cut is just outside of the usual run of things, having a more than usual faster beat for a Roots record, there's lots of bongos; and lots of brass, backing a narrative of a pessimistic analysis of the present state of things, "We sit at home and laugh with others, we worship money and forgot our brothers" with a optimistic belief that things would improve because "The fathers time will be coming again". Hugh Malcolm isn't on the other side, but he can be found on a later British Amalgamated issue number 829, with Mortgage.
