The debate has not been fully settled as to who the credits on People Grudgeful should go to, Dalkie in his Amalgamated listing credits The Pioneers, others say The Ethiopians, what is for sure is that this is Joe Gibbs answer to Lee Perry's People Funny Boy. Though I can't help thinking that it might be a bit ironic calling people Grudgeful on a 'grudge' record!
The excellent Fall, used both the Gibbs and Perry songs (as well as snippets of at least one other Reggae song) on Why Are People Grudgeful their own take of the grudgeful thing.
