ROAST FISH & CORN BREAD * LEE PERRY * UPSETTERS * JA
Once a staple diet of the people of Jamaica, it had its equivalent the world over. Britain also had its 'fish and chips', not any more though, now, partly due to the so called European Union, England's working folk are loosing there nourishing and healthy fish. Not to worry though citizens, thanks to the likes of New Labour's science minister, Lord Sainsbury, GM crops will soon replace those old fashioned indigenous foods in the super 'markets'. Rice and other poor man's foodstuffs from around the world packaged up with lots of serious (EU rules and regulations) and trendy (new world) information will replace it. Although, it seems, they eat pretty high of the hog in the EU parliament itself, and its legions of associated trumpery. Here's a menu for the heads of the parliament (remember this is your money they are spending) cooked, on this particular day, by Swedish champion team of cooks under the leadership of prize-winning cook Gert Klötzke.
Fresh green asparagus with sour cream, chives, Kalix
whitefish roe and young chard salad
Timbale of fillet of turbot with spinach, mange-touts, mushrooms, peas and
Noilly Prat sauce. Served with new potatoes.
Strawberry sorbet with vanilla ice-cream and fresh berries, raspberry cream
sauce and almond biscuits
