Boris Gardner was born Kingston in 1946, and has had a long and distinguished career in Reggae music as bass player, singer and musical director. He has been active since the late 1960s playing bass in bands like: The Dragonaires, The Crystallites and The Aggrovators. He scored a big hit with Elizabethan Reggae; a popular dance tune with the Skinheads. He also recorded with The Now Generation and fronted his own outfit The Boris Gardner Happening, when Aston 'Family Man' Barrett left Lee Perry's Upsetters to join the Wailers, Boris Gardner became the bass player at the Black Ark.
