Keith Hudson has (deservedly) achieved cult status amongst Reggae music fans through his use of bold, imaginative and innovative recordings. Most of his early work in the field was producing others, notably: Big Youth, U Roy and Alton Ellis, but around the period of the above he concentrated more on producing and releasing himself. Melody Maker, released on his own Mafia label JA, is a heady and haunting mix of chanting, [the words Melody Maker] background wailing, funky Wah Wah guitar and bongo drumming.
