Lloyd Tyrell, stared learning piano, in 1968 he felt that he was accomplished enough to form a band with some friends; The Hippy Boys. The group were: Lloyd Charmers (Organ) Alva Reggie Lewis (Guitar), Aston "Family Man" Barrett (Bass), Carlton Barrett (Drums), and sometimes Maxwell Smith a.k.a. Max Romeo as vocalist.
