JUST LIKE A LOG * THREE TOPS * BULLET 527 * UK

Like many other records of Jamaican origin the title of this disc looks a little eccentric and intriguing because it gives the impression of being incomplete, as it seems to have an object but no subject. It begs the question: just what is it that is like a log? I know the singer is male so; is it his heart, his head, his leg or some other part of his anatomy, maybe it is not physical at all, maybe it's his mind, his soul, or his sense of humour; or maybe its something unrelated like his mode of transport, dinner, or just his tree? Whatever it is it remains a mystery until the record is played (though not always a 100% guarantee of clarification) and having played it I can say that the song is a complex and particular view of the nature of things - very much like some of his other songs - sung to a nice soulful easy rocking rhythm. I think that this track has something to do with Lee Perry although there is nothing on the label and another added attraction is that the pressing is on a deep red, translucent vinyl.
