LET IT BE * THE SOULETTES * UPSETTER 337 * UK
A segment of The Beatles song Let It Be with added Rastafarian overtones and a heavy musical backing courtesy of the Black Ark. The Soulettes started out recording for Coxsone Dodd as Alfarita 'Rita' Anderson (Marley), Marlene Gifford and Constantine Walker, later the line up changed to Rita Marley, Hortense Lewis and Cecile Campbell. It was this second combination that recorded Let It Be for Lee Perry.
