ALONG THE NAVAJO TRAIL * TONY GORDON * GRAPE 3056 * UK
This seems an unusual choice of songs for a Reggae artist being an old cowboy song, as the title would suggest, but its lonesome and outsider feel makes for a fine cut. It was written by Larry Marks, Dick Charles, Eddie Lange and recorded by The Andrews Sisters in 1945, although the song is much older; Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, recorded a version in the 1950s, as did Frankie Lane, which could be where Tony Gordon heard the song.
