PROMISED LAND * PATRICK ALLEY * VILLAGE * JA

Patrick Alley, a. k. a. Nah- I, sued Sir Mick Jagger of the rolling stones in 1986 for the similarity of A Touch Of Patrick Alley and the 'Jagger' song Just Another Night, when, in 1988, the verdict was reached in favour of Sir Jagger Patrick Alley left the music business, it is said in disgust,  for some time. I don't think Booker T. ever sued Sir Mick for Green Onions, err, I mean Stones,  Bobby Womack was gutted when he first heard It's All Over Now ripped off  (but at least he got the royalties)  then there was Irma Thomas, Chuck Berry etc, . . .  but maybe Patrick Alley was exemplary  although the same can't be said for many of the other recording artists and producers in the Jamaican music industry . . . the word 'adopted' springs to mind. Still I can't help thinking if the rebel Knight did adopt A Touch Of Patrick Alley, when he was banged, caked-up as he undoubtedly is, you'd have thought he'd have come clean and at least settled out of court with his fellow, if not so ennobled, artist.
