HEARTACHES * NORMA FRASER * SKA BEAT 223 * UK
Norma Fraser cut two different songs called Heartaches and both were for Coxsone Dodd's Studio 1 label. The first, the above, issued on the Ska Beat label in the UK, is a Soul song (very much in the Jackie Opel style when he cut Soul songs for Dodd) with a lovely dreamy, raw saxophone intro that continuous to accompany her throughout and ends with a prolonged solo.
The other song is a Ska version which was issued in the UK on the Doctor Bird label a year later.
