Marlene and Joyce Webber were The Tonetts, they were also known as The Webber Sisters. The girls could have taken the name The Tonettes from records issued on the Modern, Volt and Dynamic label, though it could have been from the earlier Doo wop girl group calld The Tonettes a.k.a. The Claremonts who recorded for Apollo in 1957. These Tonettes however cut their first record for Coxsone Dodd in 1963 and their last (as The Webber Sisters) in 1969, I'll Give It To You a Rock Steady with a heavy bass lead, was the last of thier Studio 1 productions to be released in the UK and it was only issued as a B side to The Lyrics Music Like Dirt.
