LET'S JOIN HANDS * MELODIANS * STUDIO 1 2013 * UK
Sung on the same rhythm as Save
A Bread and containing the immortal line "Hate
no man, and no man will hate you." The Melodians Let's
Join Hands (Together) is a fine Rock Steady cut.
Released (with the title and group wrongly credited) as the B side to I Am
Going To Cool It by Earl Lowe (also miscredited to the Gaylads) on the UK Studio
1 label and originally released in Jamaica on the Muzak City label.
The Melodians: Tony Brevett, Brent Dowe and Trevor McNaughton, left
Coxsone Dodd shortly after recording this and moved over to Dodd’s great rival
Duke Reid where they recorded the same song with a distinctly different sound.
