STILL WATERS * JERRY JONES * BAMBOO 65 * GB

During the 1960s and early 70s Coxsone Dodd's Studio 1 could be seen to mirror the music and, to some extent, the concepts, of the black owned and run, musical enterprise Tamla Motown, from Detroit, USA. Not only did he copy much of the art work associated with the American company, but also used many of their songs; which on occasions would supersede the original in soul and class. The Jerry Jones pictured above was originally issued by the Four Tops in August 1970 on Motown # 1170. Jerry Jones recorded another version of this for Coxsone, as well as the other 13 cuts she did at Brentford Road.
