UNDYING LOVE * ERNEST WILSON * COXSONE * JA
Blissful music from the late 1960s although the timelessness nature of this cut means that it could have been made yesterday. Fitzroy 'Ernest' Wilson was one half of the vocal group the Clarendonians, who scored many Ska and Rock Steady hits while at Studio One. There are two issues of this record both with different matrix numbers: The Coxsone (seen above) has a CN 2534 number, and the Studio One release (seen below) has a SO 0060 number. While I think that they are not different recordings they are different mixes in as much as the Studio 1 cut slightly fades in and out on the vocals, while the Coxsone issue has a constant sound throughout (I prefer the Coxsone). Both records shown here are 70s presses it was originally released on Studio 1 JA but not with the Version on the B side as both of these have. N. B. The Studio 1 has a 'Rosette' style label on the version side.
