LICK HIM WITH THE DUSTBIN * JAH WOOSH * THIRD WORLD 62 * UK

I single this track out as much for the cut Jah Woosh Toasts over as Jah Woosh himself; though he does an excellent job. Although I am unable to identify the rhythm there is enough of the original vocals to more than just tantalize as some DJ versions do when there is barely a word or two left. There is also something to be said for the directness and poetry of the  title, not very often this sort of phrase crops up in western Popular music, or the sentiment either come to that.

Mystery solved thanks to Oliver, (I should have known that!)

"Hi,
the original vocal tune Jah Woosh's chanting over was from Errol Holt, it's called A you lick me first and came out on the MCM-label (JA) around 1976.
B-side is A you first by Sky High All Stars. I think this tune even appears on Errol Holt's Rastafari Time-album."
