Produced by Derrick Harriott, this was Scotty's, a.k.a. David Scott, first big hit as a deejay. Scotty had been working with Harriott since 1967 as a member of the vocal group The Federals, recording songs like Penny For Your Song, and, later, as one of the Chosen Few. Based on the children's 'educational' television program of the same name, which has become famous for the 'Moppet' characters it featured, Sesame Street is over Derrick Harriott's classic Rock Steady cut The Loser, which itself is taken from a soul track by The Artistics .
