TIPATONE * KING SMILEY * PRESSURE BEAT 5514 * UK
A very popular record on the British Reggae scene this un-credited Joe Gibbs production reached number three on the Reggae charts in 1972; not crediting King Smiley could possibly have frustrated him (if he knew about it at all) and his career. The rhythm is from Errol Dunkley's Life is Sweet, it was also cut by Augustus Pablo as Pablo's Happy Feeling and Big Youth on an Augustus Clarke production also had success in 1972 with his Tippertone Rock. I think there was a Sound System operating at the time known as Tippertone Hi Fi or something.
