Phil Spector at his 'Wall of Sound' near best on this great big fat and glowing Soul sound from the Ronettes, only out done in the 'Wall of Sound' stakes by the girl's follow up Baby I Love You.  Written by Ellie Greenwich, Jeff Barry and Phil Spector, and released in July 1963 Be My Baby was an instant hit reach #2 on the American charts and #4 on the British charts; it has since been called by Brian Wilson, of The Beach Boys, "The most perfect Pop record of all time"

The Ronettes were - Veronica Bennett, Estelle Bennett and Nedra Talley - first for Phil Spector's Phillies label USA # 116, they had previously had five records released, two on May three on Colpix; the first two, one each on May and Colpix, as by Ronnie and The Relatives.
