CASONOVA * RUBY ANDREWS * ZODIAC 1004 * USA
Ruby Andrews, a. k. a. Ruby Stackhouse dominated the Chicago based independent Zodiac label with some fourteen singles, the above was her third; and I think it was first issued with the Casanova spelling, which is odd that the second issue should have the misspelling, but maybe I've got it wrong. She cut two records with The Vondells in 1964, then one for Kellmac under her birth name Ruby Stackhouse, before signing for Zodiac in 1967. For me this track shares a certain something with Betty Everett's Prince Of Players, and Ann Peebles' I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down.
