She was born Eunice Kathleen Waymon February1933, Tryon, North Carolina. The above was one of the first songs to be recorded by her when she signed for the Philips label in 1964. Throughout her distinguished career as a musician, singer and political activist Nina Simone was an inspiration, her integrity, intellect and determination would have not only given guidance but strength to many, she died Tuesday April 22, 2003 age 70. Hah! and through oppressive laws, like 'copyright', which are constructed and furnished to facilitate power, the lizard men and women of corporate greed continue profit from her death by using her name and labor (which because of copyright they own) in their merchandise and advertising.
