Released in the US on Elf 9009 Earthquake, an exciting and passionate dance cut, was always going to appeal to Soul fans though it is one of the less well known records that came out at a time when the sensibilities of Soul fans in two different parts of the country were beginning to divide. Though there always remained a central core of Soul music that appealed to all, two quite different forms of Soul began to take hold in the consciousness of many fans in the northern towns and cities and the south of England, which led to the, now ubiquitous, term Northern Soul being used to differentiate the two styles.
