GIVE ME MY FREEDOM * THE GLORIES * DIRECTION 3084 * UK
A striking up-tempo Soul cut with that 'Northen' beat. Lead singer Yvonne "Frankie" Gearing with a very interesting proto feminist cut circulating the message that women were no longer the property of men, as is still believed by some backward thinking communities, in a most agreeable, and acceptable form. Released on Date 1571 in the US (I Love You Babe But) Give Me My Freedom was the second of eight by The Glories for the label between 1967 and 1969.
Produced by Bob Yorey record label owner producer and manager, who had been closely involved with the group during their career from the all male Laddins, through The Steinways to The Glories and afterwards Quiet Elegance.
