THE LOCO-MOTION * LITTLE EVA * LONDON 9581 * UK
The Loco-Motion was the first release on Carol King and Gerry Goffin's Dimension label, by their sixteen year old baby sitter Eva Narcissus Boyd, otherwise known as Little Eva. Although Little Eva cut the demo the song was first offered to Dee Dee Sharp and Chubby Checker at Cameo-Parkway, but as they turned it down it was decided to add some overdubs and backing vocals by The Cookies then release the record by Little Eva herself. It was an instant sensation topping both the Pop and R&B charts going on to give millions of people enjoyment and sell millions of copies across the world; proving the old adage if you believe in something don't be put off by rejection.
