SECOND CHANCE * THELMA JONES * BARRY! 1024 * USA
Second Chance, a beautiful and moving ballad with female backing chorus that occasionally shifts in tempo, is the B side of Mr. Fix It her fifth and last for the Barry! label.
Born Thelma McDaniel in Fayetteville, North Carolina she sang Gospel as a family outfit called The McDaniel Singers, she later sang with The Pussy Cats, before cutting her first record as Thelma Jones for Barry! in 1966. It would seem that she never recorded for several years after cutting Mr. Fix It, until 1976 when she recorded Salty Tears for Columbia in 1976. She had three more with Columbia and that seems to be it. Shame, such a talent and only nine singles in all.
