WHEN THE BOY'S HAPPY * THE FOUR PENNIES * STATESIDE 244 * UK
The Four Pennies were the Chiffons under another name. The idea, by a group of producers calling themselves the Tokens, was to create a duel identity for the group. Their first issue as the Four Pennies was My Block on Rust, an imprint of Laurie, which was where the Chiffons records were to be found, was released at the same time as One Fine Day. The above, a simple hedonistic and happy teen type song (definitely not one for the feminists, although it was written by one of the industries most creative and successful women Ellie Greenwich) was their second and last under the this identity.
