YES, I'M READY * BARBARA MASON * ARCTIC 105 * USA
Barbara Mason had a total of fifteen releases on the Philadelphian Arctic label, Yes, I'm Ready was her second, she had cut one record before joining the newly formed Arctic label as Barbara Mason and The Larks on Crusader. Yes, I'm Ready was her first of three records to be released in the UK during the 1960s and received some play in the clubs in the South of England partly due to being imported, recommended and sold at the first, Soul City record shop in Deptford S.E. London, run by the late Dave Godin, David Nathan and Robert 'Bobby' Blackmor. Yes, I'm Ready is a soulful ballad that carries the message many young men in their early teens long to hear so they can pass the division from boyhood to manhood.
