Although song writer credits on this record go to (Lee) Perry it was in fact written by Sylvia Moy, Stevie Wonder and Hank Cosby, and originally recorded by Stevie Wonder for Tamla Motown. It was Glen Adams, a.k.a Glenroy Phillip Adams, only credited release on the British Upsetter label; and though he had been recording since the early 1960s as a solo vocalist and with groups like The Heptones and The Pioneers, as well as on keyboards with groups such as: The Reggae Boys, The Soulmates and the Upsetters, his name has remained relatively unknown in the UK. This could in part be due to the fact that he was never always properly credited on records, see the two examples below.
