TRUE LOVE * HORTENSE AND STRANGER * BLUE BEAT 83 * UK
Backed by the finest of of drumming True Love has a lovely Latin beat that swings and sways all the way through, with some classy instrumental breaks and choice vocals from this well matched pair. Hortense Ellis duetted with many other singers, notably her brother Alton and Jackie Opel; Stranger Cole, also had his fair share of duetting partners, like Patsy Todd and Ken Booth, but this could be the only (UK) cut with these two towering giants of Reggae music singing together.
