I FOUGHT THE LAW * BOBBY FULLER FOUR * LONDON 10030 * UK

Written by Sonny Curtis and originally record by the Crickets (without Buddy Holly) in 1959, I Fought The Law was first recorded by The Bobby Fuller Four in 1964 and issued on their own Exeter label # 124 backed with She's My Girl. It was recorded again for Bob Kean's Del-Fi subsidiary label, Mustang # 3014 in 1965 and backed with Little Annie Lou, the same format and recording as the above London release UK.

Bobby Fuller died in tragic and mysterious circumstances in January 1966 while I Fought The Law was racing up the charts, eventually to reach the Top ten. His dead body was found in the drivers seat of his mothers car in a car park in Los Angeles, he had been badly beaten and a petrol soaked raged had been stuffed in his mouth, the LAPD verdict of his death was given as suicide! He was just 23 years old.
