LIGHTS OUT * JERRY BYRNE * SPECIALTY 5011 * UK

Written by Mac Rebennack this is a great high energy slice of Rock and Roll from a seventeen year old Jerry Byrne, with a fantastic pounding piano supplied by Art Neville. It was New Orleans born Jerry Byrne's first of two singles for the Specialty label, the story of his journey to the giddy heights of cutting a Rock and Roll record are worth comparing to the struggles of today's Pop bands. This British copy was issued in 1976 and was his only record to be released in the UK. Lights Out was also recorded in the 1970s by the Essex group Dr. Feelgood; their first LP Down By The Jetty is, in my opinion, one of the best albums ever by British Rock band.
