Born in Arkansas, in 1935 Ronnie Hawkins aka The Hawk, relocated to Ontario, Canada in the late 1950s, where he established his long and successful musical career. Released in March 1960 the above Rockin' With Ronnie EP contains four tracks unreleased as singles (an unusual occurrence with record companies at the time who tended to repackage hits on EP formats) three of the four tracks are indeed what could be called Rockin' the exception being the Bluesy Odessa, a smoldering lament with, male vocal group backing and some some fine saxophone breaks.
