ROME, GA * ALBERT WASHINGTON AND THE KINGS * PRESIDENT 391 * UK
Father of ten children Albert Washington was warned not to play the Devil's music by his mother, so he occasionally played a little gospel to offset all that naughty Blues and Soul. The above is, I guess, pure Devil's doings, the man is singing about way back when in his his home town, Rome, Georgia, a joyful dance track, ironically sung in the form of a Gospel. Odd, is it not, how some things that have the potential to resist power, or liberate, were categorized by the Church as evil; and them being so GOOD and all. And it wasn't just the puritans in the nineteenth and twentieth century, the Roman Catholic Church was at it way back in the thirteenth century with the poor Albigensians, who, as I understand it, liked a bit fun, until they were all slaughtered mercilessly by the Jesuits.
