Chuck Willis born 31st January 1928 in Atlanta, Georgia, he was called 'The King of the Stroll', by others, because of the coincidence of his C C Rider being popular at the time of that particular dance craze. Most of his early recordings were first released on the Okeh label, where he enjoyed some success, in 1956 he was signed for Atlantic, where he stayed until his premature death in 1958.
