LEE GOOFED * SHIRLEY & LEE * VOGUE * UK
Lee Goofed was released in 1954 on Aladdin 3222 in the USA, and this extended play with four early cuts from the duo was issued in 1960 in the UK (originally with a company picture sleeve, now lost). Unlike 99.9% of American R&B recording artists Shirley & Lee had a, relatively, healthy catalogue of their material issued in England, from Let The Good Times Roll, in 1956 to True Love in 1959 the Vogue label released some thirteen singles and two EP's (the above is the second); all thirty four the tracks coming from the Aladdin label. In the context of Britain in the 1950s thirteen British releases compares very well with the twenty singles issued for Aladdin, under normal circumstances just one release by an R&B singer or group is a bonus.
