TEEN TOWN HOP * THE PHILHARMONICS * FED 11 * UK

Although, chronologically, this is a cover of Eddie McKinny's 1959 recording and was, as far as I can tell, released in February 1961 it is, non-the-less, an unmistakable Rockin' R&B recording and stylistically, at least, belongs to the 1950s. A fabulous hard driving R&B dance cut Teen Town Hop by The Philharmonics was originally released on the Future label # 2200, based in Batesville, Arkansas, and was backed with Why Don't You Write Me, another cover of  a 1950s song. The only other release I know of by the group is I Need Your Love released on the New Orleans based Soulin label #149.
