TOO EACH HIS OWN * FAITH HOPE AND CHARITY * RCA 2599 * UK
Disco-Soul from Fides, Spes et Caritas, the Latin names of three holy virgins from Rome who became martyred saints and won "the crown of martyrdom" under the Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD. Faith Hope and Charity also became known as three 'key' Christian virtues; although it would seem that, all things considered, throughout history they have had only a passing relationship to Charity. Our trio however was a purely vocal group that consisted of two girls and a guy: Albert Bailey, Brenda Joyce Hillard and Diane Destry. To Each His Own is a Soul cut, that is just this side of Disco, which has pace and conviction was a minor hit in the States, charting on both the Disco and R&B charts.
