Another of Brenton Wood's records, this one was the follow-up to his hit big Gimmie Little Sign, produced by Joe Hooven and Hal Winn. That the sound of all the records cut by Brenton Wood, aka Alfred Jesse Smith, were so distinctive and compelling, Baby You Got It being no exception, it is a little surprising he never had a higher profile in the cannon of Soul singers.
Released in the US on Double Shot 121 this was only the third of eleven singles on the label but his recording career goes all the way back to 1958 when he cut All My Love for Chief as a member of Little Freddy & The Rockets.
