PRISONER OF LOVE * JAMES BROWN AND THE FAMOUS FLAMES * LONDON 9730 * UK
Long before he was known as the King of Funk he was singing Soulful ballads, in fact he started his recording career in 1956 with the ballad Please, Please Please, in a talking/singing, gospel influenced, style that he was to use throughout. The above song is a very old standard that, the sentiments of which, would have been just out of 'earshot' of most of the youth listening to this at the time of it's release.
