THE BOOGALOO PARTY * THE FLAMINGOS * PHILIPS 1786 * UK

Like the Olympics the Flamingos had success as both a 1950s Doowop group and with the above a 'hit' with the Soul club and party dancers in the 1960s. The group signed with the Phillips label in 1965 their first release on the label was an updated version of Bing Crosby's 1934 hit Temptation, The Boogaloo Party was on the B side of their second release for Philips The Nearness Of You, though it was released as the A side in the UK. BooGaloo Party became the groups first chart hit in six years, reaching number 22, and the groups only chart success in the UK: #26, three years after its release (the record shown was the second release from 1969 when it finally charted in the UK).
