FATHER KNOWS BEST * THE RADIANTS * CHESS 1832 * USA
The group had been singing Gospel and secular in various guises as The Golden Gospeltones, The Greater Harvest Baptist Church Choir and The Troubadors before settling on the name and signing to Chess as The Radiants.
Father Knows Best is their debut recording and is, complete with introduction, musically at least, very much a carbon copy of The Miracles Shop Around.
Members of the group were Maurice McAlister, Wallace Sampson, Jerome Brooks, Elzie Butler and Green "Mac" McLauren; it was lead singer Maurice McAlister and Green "Mac" McLauren who went on to sing as Maurice And Mac.
